The Measure (sa) leaks new album, “Notes”, and tour to and from THE FEST 9!

measuresa_notes_lp The Measure (sa) has leaked their new studio album, “Notes”, that will be released via No Idea Records on October 5th in the LP/CD formats!

You can listen to the album in its entirety before release date on the band’s Punknews.org band profile page!

Ifyoumakeit.com also posted an acoustic version of the song “Unwritten” that appears on “Notes” from their Pink Couch Sessions. You can watch & download the acoustic version here.

“Notes” was recorded in the 2nd half of 2009 by Chris Pierce at Technical Ecstasy and Brian “Buckets” Buccelato at Chumbuckets and later mastered by Stephen Egerton.

Guitarist/ Vocalist, Lauren Denitzio, did the cover artwork and layout for the album. You can see more of her art at her site: Black and Red Eye.

The Measusre (sa) will be touring down and back from THE FEST 9 in Gainesville, FL over Halloween weekend. The back end of the tour will be with label mates, Worn in Red. Check out the Southern Lovin’ Tour Page for the dates.

thearrivalsfisheye Chicago’s The Arrivals will be taking it to the road to support their new album “Volatile Molotov”. The tour will be with label mates, Toys That Kill. You can read below for a list of dates including a performance at THE FEST 9 over Halloween weekend in Gainesville, FL!

“Volatile Molotov” is the follow up to their critically acclaimed previous album, “Marvels of Industry”. The album will be released on October 5th via Recess Records. Recess owner, Todd Congelliere described the new album as “the band’s grand opus” and “listens like a classic novel”.

To celebrate the band has teamed up with the mighty Punknews.org to give the people an early stream of the album prior to release date.

Worn In Red tours with the Catalyst and the Measure [sa] to and from FEST 9!

kling_brendan_1.jpg Virginia’s Worn In Red will embark on an east coast tour to support their album, “In The Offing”, that was released earlier this year on No Idea Records.

The first half of the tour will be with fellow Richmond natives, The Catalyst, leading up to a performance at THE FEST 9 in Gainesville, FL over Halloween weekend. Post raging at FEST 9, the band will continue on the road with label mates The Measure [sa] who will be supporting their brand new album, “Notes”.

Worn in Red will be unveiling a split 7” with hometown friends Mouthbreather at The FEST 9. The split will be released by RVA’s Rorschach Records.

Worn In Red hails from Charlottesville and Richmond, VA and have garnered comparisons to Planes Mistaken for Stars, Four Hundred Years, Frodus, Glass and Ashes, and Sleepytime Trio.

The Dopamines tour with Banner Pilot to-and-fro THE FEST 9!

dsc_8515 Cincinnati’s power pop-punk trio THE DOPAMINES are headed out on the road to support their new album, “Expect the Worst”, released this past June via Paper + Plastick. The tour is with good buddies Banner Pilot and will lead both bands to THE FEST 9 in Gainesville, FL over Halloween weekend.

“Expect the Worst” was recorded this past November with Roger Lima (Less Than Jake/Rehasher) and Matt Yonker (Teen Idols/The Queers) at Roger’s Moat House Studios and mixed by Stephen Egerton (Descendents/ALL).

The Arrivals stream their new album “Volatile Molotov” for Recess Records on Punknews!

Over summer, the Arrivals finished a run of shows with their friends, Off With Their Heads, ending with a performance at Best Friends Day 9.

THE FEST 9 has confirmed another batch of bands for their annual three day punk rock family reunion in Gainesville, FL being held this Halloween weekend (October 29th, 30th and 31st ).

O Pioneers! tours to FEST 9!

dsc_0172.jpg Houston TX’s O Pioneers! is heading out to the open road in October! The tour takes the band down the East Coast en route to their performance at FEST 9 during Halloween weekend in Gainesville, FL.

In releases news, back in May, O Pioneers!’s home, Kiss of Death Records, released a split 10” with Bomb the Music Industry!, including four songs from each band.

Later, in June, KOD also put out a Split 7” with Junior Battles, a by-product of the bands’ tour together in March. You can click on over to O Pioneers!’s MySpace page to listen to “That’s My Blood” and to Junior Battles’ MySpace page to hear “Passing Out.”

Young Livers tour ‘til FEST 9 after Canadian run in support of “Of Misery and Toil”!

Gainesville’s Young Livers have announced over a month of tour dates leading up to their performance at FEST 9 this Halloween weekend!

They are currently in the middle of their Canadian venture with Against Me! & The Flatliners. The U.S. tour starts out west during the last week in September and heads east. Some shows are still TBA, but be sure to check for updates.

The band is continuing to support their current album, “Of Misery and Toil”, released this past spring on No Idea Records.

Alternative Press launched the music video for the title track of the new album back in March. You can head over to AP to check out the video for “Of Misery and Toil” if you haven’t already. The video consists of still photos shot by their good friend Brian Keheller on the Young Livers/OK Pilot pre-FEST tour last October.

The Holy Mountain details “Here Is No Exit” picture 12” and announces European tour!

The Holy Mountain have detailed their most recent release for No Idea Records. “Here Is No Exit” will be a picture 12” featuring four new songs recorded at Atomic Audio back in February of 2010. These will be the first new recordings from the band in over three years! Side B is a collection of seven songs from the splits the band previously released with Black Tusk, Cobra Noir, Deathcycle and Cave Canem.

The 12” release date will be later this winter, but the band will have copies with them on the road for their European tour as well as the Europe 2010 Collection tape released by Financial Ruin. The 14 song cassette will be available only on this tour and will be limited to 200 copies. The tape release includes 11 songs from the Here is No Exit 12″ and three demo/unreleased songs. The cassette collects everything recorded from 2006 to 2010.
